Kyoto has many sightseeing opportunities very close to accommodation and public transport, and depending where you stay, many are within a short healthy walking distance. Kyoto City government has had the good sense to pass regulations in order to keep and preserve its cultural heritage. Simply, Kyoto is the only prefecture in Japan that has the largest amount of world heritage sites and preservation of old style buildings. The pace of Kyoto lifestyle is even and steady, therefore it is easy to unwind and relax and enjoy your holiday here.

There are no skyscrapers or very tall buildings in Kyoto City, with only one building being  seventeen stories tall. Now, City Hall has limited residential buildings to six stories and commercial buildings to seven stories.
